Matt Schreyer

Meet Matt Schreyer, a remarkable board member of Vertical Lift Outreach (VLO) non-profit organization. For nearly two decades, Matt has honed his skills as a garage door technician in southern Connecticut. After studying audio technology, he found his way to garage doors while searching for work in the audio industry. Despite occasional forays into audio, Matt's dedication to garage doors led him to become a lead technician at Automatic Door Co. Inc., earning coveted IDEA certifications along the way.

In 2017, Matt stumbled upon an online community of garage door professionals called the Garage Door Tech Deplorables. Drawn to their camaraderie and support, he witnessed how they transcended the virtual world, forming genuine friendships and helping one another. This sense of unity and care laid the foundation for Vertical Lift Outreach.

 

Inspired by the spirit of togetherness, Matt eagerly joined VLO as a board member, driven by his passion for connecting with customers, sharing stories, and bringing smiles to faces, even in tough times. He firmly believes in The Beatles' timeless message that we all "get by with a little help from our friends." Matt's journey from garage door technician to compassionate advocate exemplifies the power of empathy and unity, encouraging us to lend a hand and make a difference in the lives of others.
